Still Time to Book Snorkeling for Silver Week in Okinawa? Booking Tips and the Best Time Slots for the Sept 19–23 Holiday

"My Silver Week suddenly opened up." "I only decided at the last minute." Do not worry — the five-day holiday does get busy, but with the right time slot and plan there is still availability. Here are tips for last-minute and same-day booking, whether morning or afternoon is the better bet, and how to structure the five days.

Yes it gets busy — but last-minute still works, for two reasons

Yes it gets busy — but last-minute still works, for two reasons

Silver Week 2026 is Saturday September 19 to Wednesday September 23. With the first five-day September break in eleven years, popular Okinawa activities start filling up early. Even so, "right now" is often still in time, for two reasons. ① The holiday is five days long — if one specific day is full, another usually still has space. ② Last-minute cancellations and date changes are common, sometimes as typhoon forecasts shift. We welcome same-day and next-day bookings, so before you assume it is too late, just ask what is open. LINE and the contact form are open 24/7.

Aim for the morning: calmer sea, and the best blue

Aim for the morning: calmer sea, and the best blue

If you are torn on timing, we recommend the morning, for three reasons. ① Calmer sea — wind tends to pick up through the afternoon, so mornings are usually flatter. ② The light — the Blue Cave's glow comes from light entering through the water, so it looks best when the sun is high, roughly 10am to noon. ③ The rest of your day stays free — finish the sea in the morning and the afternoon is yours for sightseeing, shopping or changing hotels. Afternoon slots suit late risers or anyone landing around midday. Plan on 3–4 hours including transport. Morning slots fill first during long holidays, so ask early if that is your preference.

How to structure five days: put the ocean in the first half

If you are laying out five days, put the ocean activity in the first half (day 1–3). The reason is simple: it leaves room to reschedule. September is still the tail of typhoon season and a weather cancellation is never impossible. Booked early in the trip, a cancelled tour can usually move to another day within the same holiday; booked on your last day, there is nowhere to move it and a refund is all we can offer. As for which plan: Blue Cave if you want one unmistakably Okinawan spectacle; Naha sea-turtle snorkeling if you are staying in Naha or want to meet a turtle; snorkeling in Onna for young children or a lower price; skin diving for age 10 and up who want to dive properly. Pickup areas differ by plan — Blue Cave, snorkeling and skin diving cover central Okinawa (Onna, Yomitan, Chatan, Okinawa City), while the turtle tour covers hotels within Naha.

What to tell us when you book — and what happens in bad weather

What to tell us when you book — and what happens in bad weather

When you get in touch, telling us ① your preferred date plus a second choice ② the number of people (with children's ages) ③ your hotel ④ whether you can swim lets us confirm availability and pickup on the spot. Share your travel dates too and we will suggest backup slots alongside. If weather forces a cancellation, you get a new date, or a full refund if that will not work — no cancellation fee to worry about. Because every tour is fully private, there is no other group's schedule to work around, so changes are easy. Mask, fins and life jacket free, free hotel pickup, free photo data (video free for a limited time), children from age 3. Make the sea part of your five days.
